Rugby Triumph!
In 2016 with an adhoc team and short notice we were invited to enter the West Norfolk Rugby School Sport Partnership (SSP) tournament, in our PE kits, we came second to last. We were stirred by this and felt we could do better and so The Sandringham & West Newton School Rugby Team was duly created.
However, this year with our new professional kit there was a worry that we were ‘all kit and no idea’ that’s how smart we looked – thanks to Bespoke Norfolk LTD who sponsored our rugby kit. But, this year not only did we look the part – we WON! We won ALL the games and our team came away with the GOLD medals.
It was such a TEAM effort every one of our team scored a ‘try’.
Thank you so much to Stewart Parris (rugby coach) who freely volunteered his time to coach the team pre / mid and post-matches on Friday 10th November. And Mrs James who helped transport players to and from the West Norfolk Rugby Club.
I have to say the buzz in the playground upon the teams return, was just immeasurable!
Fridays Rugby Team included: Giovanni, Henry, Josh, Lilly, Niamh, Stanley, Thomas and Tyler.
