Make Music Day
Yesterday was a fabulous day, not just weather wise, but with the beautiful sounds of music that emanated from the school playground. We kicked off the afternoon with the rather marvelous King’s Lynn Ukulele Club. They played some Queen numbers and embraced summer with a bit of George Ezra and it wasn’t long before all the children were up dancing. The choir were brilliant and sang their socks off. Next, we had Springwood’s brass band. They had been to seven schools before us but, despite being worn out, they played absolutely brilliantly. The sound of a brass band being played outdoors is the epitome of a British summer. Then, all of the school musicians performed for us. We had piano players, clarinet players, recorder players and violin players. Finally, to finish off the day, the choir, along with some of our fabulous parents (Mrs Whitmore, Mrs Collison, Mrs Askew, Mrs Ward and Mrs Wright) sang ‘Let it Be.’ It was a truly lovely afternoon, and the best way to wish Mrs Reddey well as she starts her maternity leave. Thank you to all parents that came to watch the event and for donating cakes (a special thanks to Libby J, who had baked for us and even made a special cake for Mrs Reddey) and to the ‘Friends’ committee for their help organising the refreshment stall and providing the tea, coffee and many cakes.
There are lots of pictures in the gallery.
