Netball League

Meet 1

Friday 27th also saw the start of the Netball League, so there was a quick turn around for some children as they had taken part in the football during the day. This is the first time a League has been organised and we were all very excited about it. Everyone arrived at KES in good time and weather, thanks to Mrs Wright and Mr Moreland.

There are now 9 teams in the league, 3 of which are small schools. We play every 4 weeks roughly, having 3 games per meet and points are totted up so come next summer there will be a champion.

Our first match was against St Marthas, it was a difficult match which had to be stopped due to torrential rain but we managed a 2-2 draw. After a 10 minute break we came back out to play our second game against Downham Prep, although the rain had virtually stopped, it was chilly, the ball proved very slippery and difficult to handle but we scored twice and won. Our final game of the evening was against Holly Meadows Hurricanes, the sun came out as did the smiles and we went on to win 5-0.

It was a testing evening due to the weather, we all got soaked through, but the children and parents persisted and were rewarded with good performances, attitude and results. We are all looking forward to the next Meet and hoping the weather is at least dry!

Super effort
