Fabulous Cross Country results

Well done everyone that took part yesterday. How lovely to be competing again.

Cross Country 09/11/2021

What more could you ask? A pleasant, sunny November morning, albeit a little breezy, a large grassy field, and 23 very willing young people eager to run!

Off we went to Lynnsport for the Cluster Cross Country Competition, open to KS1 & 2. KS1 ran 600/800m, lower KS2 ran 1000m and upper KS2 ran 1600/1800m which was all quite daunting especially as there were so many youngsters from other schools attending too. For the younger ones in particular, it was their first time entering something like this, for the older ones it was more about doing their best and improving on a previous position. We were fortunate to be positioned at the start of the finishing straight where we could clap, cheer and support our team mates and those from other schools. They watched, learnt, listened to advice  and  as always rose to the challenge and produced some magnificent performances, with 4 finishing in the top ten which enabled them to qualify for the next round later this month. It was very hard with so many in each race; none of them should be disappointed with their performances. Myself, Mrs Day and Miss Crawford certainly weren’t.

It was a lovely morning and it was brilliant seeing them all compete and having fun!
