Dynamo Cricket Competition
North Runcton Tuesday 16th May
Although it was a sunny day, a breeze made it more comfortable to play in unlike last year when it was stifling hot.
The format; 3 pools of 3 teams, we were drawn with St Germans and South Wootton, who beat us last year to go through to the play offs. We didn’t play in the first match so we were able to relax and observe but it meant we had back to back matches. We managed to win both with some solid batting and fielding which left us leading our pool. Lunchtime beckoned and then it was time to play for places. Along with the winners of the other pools, North Wootton and St Marthas, we played off for a top 3 position. Our cricket continued to improve, with some fine batting and fielding from everyone, narrowly losing to St Marthas by 13 runs, the eventual winners and North Wootton by 3 runs, leaving us in 3rd. They had worked hard as a team, supported and encouraged each other throughout. Although they were disappointed not to get a medal, good news came in the form of, the top 3 teams go forward to play at the Finals on the 5th June.
A great day to be part of, well done;
