On Friday we attended our first event of the year at Lynnsport. It was a lovely day and everyone enjoyed themselves which was the aim, as we fielded a largely inexperienced team. It was a good introduction to the sport and both I and Mrs Collison were very proud of their guts, support for each other and determination to get involved in both the tournament and festival. They followed rules, listened and were sporting in all their games, though disappointed not to reach the semi-finals. It was a good stepping stone for future events. We would have both liked to have nominated the whole team for the player of the day award but as we couldn’t we jointly settled for Alice Hipkin and Maisie Greenacre.
Well done to them and all the children for a great effort.
