TAG RUGBY @ West Norfolk Rugby Club 12/02/24
This event was run as a festival with no scores being taken officially but as we all know children keep their own scores. Our teams, Sandringham Sharks and Harlequins were joined by 12 other teams from the West Norfolk area; there had also been an event in the morning where 15 teams took part. It is a very well supported event. 2 teams of 8 children took part playing a round robin of matches in their pool, going on to then play a new group of teams in a second round. Both teams soon adjusted to the bigger playing pitch and scored tries, gaining confidence with each match. It was lovely to see them taking it in their stride, working as a team, supporting each other and having the confidence to go for it. We were asked to pick 2 children 1 from each team as team player of the event, this was very difficult but Mrs Day and myself settled on Neve and William but actually it was all 16 of them.
I think they surprised themselves and their comments during and after the event were very positive. It was great for parents to be able to pop over and see it.
