School Development Plan
Sandringham and West Newton is always striving to secure the best possible outcomes for all of our pupils. Each year we work together with all stake holders to devise a development plan, that looks at key areas of school improvement. School staff work on the plan as part of our INSET training days, parent opinion is gathered from parent surveys and our liaison with the Friends PTA. Pupils work in their house teams and via the school council on school improvement ideas. All of the ideas are collated by the Headteacher and reviewed by the governing body. The plan is regularly updated, using a traffic light system, to show progress against milestones set. All of this work is undertaken under the firm Christian principles and ethos within which the school operates. A copy of the current school development plan is attached here.
In addition these points were raised from the parent survey, along with the actions the school has taken to address the issues.
- Concerns/confusion regarding homework – all homework is now issued on the same day, throughout the school and is due back on the same day. A homework club has been set up in school on a Thursday lunchtime to assist any children struggling with completing their homework at home.
- Requests for more clubs – a new computing club is being run by Mrs Gardener, homework club by Miss Linder and a photography club was also added this term. Next term we are hoping to add a football club, in addition to all the normal clubs already running.
