Welcome

Welcome to our school website. When I first visited our school I was struck by the special family atmosphere, which sees the school as the heart of the local community. Although this website will give you a flavour of the school, a visit is often the best way to see what our school is really about.

On September 1st 2018, we  became an Academy under the Diocese of Norwich Educational Academy Trust – DNEAT. Our school is a Church of England  and this is reflected in the membership of the Governing body, and our Christian ethos.

We are very excited to announce we have received permission to go ahead with our nursery  We will soon be  open for our afternoon provision for rising 4 year olds upwards and this is being developed for mornings as well. Please ring the school office for details.

The children are encouraged to respect and care for each other, and to consider and respond to the needs of others in our society. Our school is organised into one single Reception class and 3 mixed aged classes, combining years 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and 5 and 6; though the children share many parts of the day together for example at lunchtime and playtimes and through sporting events, where they compete in their house teams :- Balmoral, Caernarvon and Windsor.
Adults, children and governors are passionate about learning in its richest sense, and during the school year we use cross-curricular themes, ensuring the inclusion of creative arts to enrich learning experiences.

The partnership between our children, families and school is very important. Working together, we can offer your child the best opportunities to develop as a learner. We aim to provide an atmosphere that combines excellence and enjoyment in learning with creativity, so that children will engage actively in all that they do. It is in this way that we hope to establish the foundations for inquiring minds to continue developing when they leave our school.
Parents are always welcome in school and we are blessed with support from families with everything from listening to reading, gardening and cycle safety. If you feel you have a talent to offer please come in and discuss.
Our school is obviously committed to Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment. All staff and volunteers have to undertake appropriate safeguarding training using Norfolk County Council material and are DBS checked.

Here are some lovely feedback comments we have received from parents recently:-

The nurture and structure my daughter has received at Sandringham and West Newton Primary Academy has given the courage to fly at secondary school. The smooth transition to Year 7 really helped her too.
Ms Wright
We have always been impressed with the family atmosphere and the caring nature of the children. I cannot commend your school highly enough for the strong foundations you support the children to build. The music and sporting events held in conjunction with other schools in the area makes secondary school a less daunting place. The good character the teachers instil in the children and the confidence to go out into the world and be the best they can be, is at the heart of the school itself.
Mrs McLeish
We would like to express our gratitude for all the fabulous learning experience you continue to provide for our children.
We have been so impressed with their knowledge and their reading is such a joy for us parents to see. Our girls continue to skip happily into school and we are sure our boys will too when they are bigger.
