Mayoral Visit for Official Opening of our Wonderful New Room

It truly was a case of parent power in action. The Friends PTA asked us what needed doing in school and we spoke about the shared learning/kitchen space being somewhat run down and unloved. Through months of fundraising, followed by a whole summer of transformation, comprising every trade and task, from plumbing to building to decorating to tiling, we came back from the summer holidays to an incredible conversion. Our new multi-purpose space, comprises a kitchen area, learning space, library and even the staff room, which has been moved upstairs has new units and utilities. We even have a new toilet just for Year 3 and 4! All of this would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of everyone that contributed, through fundraising. The school would like to thank everyone involved. We would also like to say a special thank you to these people, who really went above and beyond, spending much of their summer in school working on the project :-

Simon Easter from D and C Easter Builders, Mr and Mrs Allen, Mr Johnson, Mr Sharp of Atelier Associates, Mr Hamilton, Mrs Young, Mr May and Mrs Moreland, Mars for their £3000 grant , Mr Afflitt and of course a huge thank you to Mrs Easter and Mrs May, for all their hard work and coordination of the project.  The Mayor of Kings Lynn, Carole Bower, came to officially open the new facilities on Friday and was very impressed with the transformation. She spent time visiting each class to talk about her work as Mayor and meet the children and then enjoyed a cup of tea in the new room. The PTA will be organising an open afternoon for everyone to come and enjoy cake and a cup of tea in the new space shortly.
