Smithdon Cluster Netball Tournament Winners!!

Following a lovely sunny day, the evening was dry, though a little cool but the team soon warmed to the task, their first tournament of the year.

They were one of eight teams who took part, in two pools of four. Our pool consisted of Docking Demons (5-0), Snettisham (5-0) and Hunstanton (11-0), we played them in that order, winning all three matches and not conceding a goal. This meant we had won our pool and now faced the runners up of pool two, Docking Devils. After an exciting game it finished 3 – 0 to us so we were in the final. The other semi-final between Heacham and Docking Demons was a hard fought match which was drawn at fulltime, then went to extra time/golden goal and finally to a penalty shoot-out leading to a win by Heacham. They were extremely tough opponents and the match was very close. They were the first score and were leading, 1-0 at halftime when we rotated for the final time. The second half proved just as exciting and it could have gone either way but the team worked hard and ended the game 3-1 winners.

My self and Mrs Campbell were so proud of the way they conducted themselves during the tournament, their determination to keep playing, listening to advice and acting on it but most of all their constant support and encouragement for each other. Fantastic!

Finally, thank you to all the parents who came and supported, it was a really great evening.

WELL DONE!
