Forest School comes to Sandringham and West Newton!
We are delighted to be embarking on a new initiative for us at Sandringham and West Newton…Forest School! Our weekly sessions, which will involve all children from Reception to Year 4, will be taking place in our school wood and will include activities such as building shelters, tree rubbing and identification, making birds nests, whittling tent pegs and campfire cooking.
This week our Reception children made bracelets left by the ‘Forest Fairies’, learned how to carry and use secateurs safely in order to clear undergrowth, and investigated the new Forest Swing! Next week we will be learning to put up a shelter.
All sessions will be led by Lee Scarisbrick of Evolve Forest School, and we would like to thank him for an exciting introductory this week.
