Dynamo Cricket

On Tuesday 17th May, 8 year 5/6 competed in our cluster Dynamo Cricket Competition at North Runcton. It was a warm mostly sunny day and everyone was excited to be competing again.

The nine schools taking part were divided into 3 pools, we had Gayton and South Wootton.  We sat the first match out and watched Gayton win by one run against South Wootton. It was our turn now against South Wootton and they won which left us to play Gayton, we won. This left all the teams on 3 points which meant it was down to average run rate, unfortunately that put us in third which left them a little disappointed but they learnt a lot and were determined to improve.

The second round of matches pitted us against Flitcham and Whitefriars we found our stride and with some very good catches and consistent bowling, we won both games. They all played with enthusiasm, supporting each other throughout and were very sporting whether winning or losing.

St Martha’s  won on the day with South Wootton in second and Holy Meadows in third all of which qualified for the cluster finals.

A surprise was to come, a whistle sounded halfway through the afternoon, everyone assembled near the pavilion and Rocket Ice Lollies were given out for everyone to enjoy, which they did.  Once consumed play resumed.

Well Done Cole, Dexter, Joshua, Finlay, Harry, Sam, Charlie and George.
