Girls Football

King’s Lynn Club Football Festival

We were invited to take part in this festival which is aimed solely at girls. Last year our girls really enjoyed a similar event so it was a good opportunity for them to wear the new kit.

They played 7 a side with rolling substitutes; we also rotated girls in goal which proved enlightening as Ellenie enjoyed the position immensely. Her comment afterward was, “My favourite thing was being in goal!”

There were several schools, Hillcrest, Holy Cross, North Wootton, South Wootton Fairstead, and Sandringham. They all played against each other, learning as they went as it was a festival no scores were recorded, it was just about enjoying themselves. As the games went on they all gained confidence, playing as a team and encouraging each other which is what we at Sandringham do very well.

From the chatter and looks on their faces when they returned and Mrs Garrard’s comments, they really did have fun. This fact was in many of the comments. It was a good opportunity to try something different without the pressure of competition. A couple of other comments mentioned; “Improved on getting into spaces, passing, tackling and
marking.”

“It was really fun and I enjoyed it. Thanks for picking me.”

WELL DONE; Mila, Lacey, Elsa, Pip, Maisie, Nyla, Harriet, Georgina and Ellenie.
