Quicksticks Hockey Monday 3rd March
It was a fine sunny day and our teams, Sandringham Steelers and Sharks were among 23 teams taking part in this event. The teams were divided into 4 pools, playing a round robin and then similarly placed teams played for positions. The Steeler’s took on Fairstead, drawing 1-1, Hunstanton, drawing 3-3, Holly Meadows losing 1-0, St Martha’s Chiefs winning 4-0 and finally Nelson, winning 2-0. This meant we finished 3rd in our pool and played Terrington who we drew 0-0 and consequently finished 10th. The Sharks had some young players and played well, finishing 21st overall. It was a great effort and opportunity for them all. We really did enjoy taking them and seeing how much they improved and enjoyed themselves.
“It made me a better hockey player, getting into space.” William.
“I loved it because I improved a lot, scored 1 and did well in defence and kept it away from goal.” Harriet.
