Autumn at Houghton Hall
On Wednesday November 11th we visited Houghton Hall. Everyone was very excited as we boarded the minibus and set off. After leaving our lunchboxes in the Education Centre we set off to explore the Walled Garden. We had a lovely time investigating the different areas of the garden including the maze, the vegetable garden and the fountain.
We had such a busy morning! We created some beautiful Autumn palettes, used mirrors to look at the underside of leaves and plants and hunted for examples of 2D shapes around the garden. We ate our lunch back in the Education Centre and enjoyed playing with the puppets and looking at the books. After lunch we headed to the Adventure Playground for an hour of fun in the leaves before returning to school. What a fabulous day…we can’t wait to go back and discover more!
