Norwich Cathedral Schools Day 2015

Posted on October 26th, 2015

The whole of KS 2 (Years 3/4/5/6) thoroughly enjoyed their day at Norwich Cathedral on October 16th. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience the incredible atmosphere of collective worship inside such an inspiring building. Children were able to take part in a whole series of workshops around a central theme – “Who is Jesus?” Activities included drama, song, dance, art, music and storytelling. Each workshop focussed on a different aspect of Jesus’s life amongst which were; Jesus the Baby, Jesus the Teacher, Jesus the Healer, Jesus the Storyteller.

After a picnic lunch in the Nave, the children joined with all the other schools present, in an act of collective worship, which involved some of the children performing their songs and saying their prayers in front of the entire congregation. Everyone joined in with the hymns and prayers. It was a very moving day, centred on everyone being able to experience spirituality in their own way. All the children enjoyed the experienced and when Canon Andy asked them what they had enjoyed; the consensus of opinion was “everything!”

Chickens

Some of our new chickens have not got the hang of going to bed in their coop yet, so the chickens committee learnt how to herd them in. They also got to handle them and collected some eggs at the same time!
